With so many options now available, choosing what to feed your little one can be a little challenging. It’s important that their first meal times are both nutritious and enjoyable, whilst also being quick and easy to manage (an absolute must for twin moms!). That’s why I was so excited to hear about Homemade & Blessed: producers of organic baby food. Here are 5 things I love about them:
1. It’s freeze-dried goodness
Freeze-drying is a modern food preservation method where fresh or cooked food is rapidly frozen and placed in a vacuum. Removing the water in such low temperatures maintains the fibre content, causing very little damage to the food’s overall value. This is a much better choice than traditional baby food (including cans and even pouches!) – they are often cooked to high temperatures which can destroy over half of the food’s nutrients.
2. Easy to make
These packets make mealtimes ridiculously simple. Add one packet to a bowl; add your choice of water, breast milk, or formula; stir it up and serve! You’ll have yourself a happy baby within a matter of minutes.
3. Only organic fruits and vegetables
I think it’s important for us to know what we’re feeding our kids. Many baby food companies use thickening agents such as refined rice, corn and wheat to bulk up the food. The end result is a very small amount of vegetables and diluted nutrients – not ideal, right? Homemade & Blessed uses absolutely no additives or fillers; each of their packages is bursting with all the good stuff our babies need.
4. Great for adults, too
I’ll admit it. I topped my toast with the organic baby avocado. And I regret nothing.
Plus, the coconut mango banana packet blends perfectly into my smoothies. At this point, I’m not entirely sure how much of this my kids will get to enjoy…
5. Perfect for the on-the-go mom
The packets are so lightweight and easily transportable (thanks to the lack of water content!), so they’ll fit perfectly into your diaper bag, purse, or even your pocket. Indulge in organic, healthy fruit and veggies wherever you go.
